NOVUS 2019

Thank you for helping make the first-ever Novus Summit such a special milestone for us all. Together we were able to align our values and begin to turn them into real world action. We truly believe that through self-awareness and a deep commitment to achieving the 17 UN Global Goals we can transform the world and make it a better place for all.

In our experience, from what we felt, we acted on our core values by activating the virtues of moral courage, compassion, and creating a platform to enable inner transformation and exponential impact.

The beauty of Novus Summit is in the diversity of voices. On July 17, 2016, we brought 47 speakers and 750 delegates to the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York City to share in the transformative experience, exchange ideas, challenge beliefs, and dare to transform our world using science, innovation, and technology. The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) inform the work we will do 2016–17 and beyond. Innovators, psychologists, CEOs, fashion models, journalists, doctors, humanitarians, entrepreneurs, and youth explored the worlds of science, global well-being, and the pursuit of happiness to promote human flourishing during the morning session of Novus Summit. The power of a healthful diet, the science of happiness, and the incredible telepresence and application of technology such as the Beam and life saving drones allow us to have meaningful interaction with people on the other side of the planet.

The energy in the UN General Assembly Hall shifted in the afternoon session to help us dream, wonder, and provoke new thoughts while highlighting exponential technology, innovation, and global impact. We explored how to confront a lack of empathy, begin a journey of inquiry, face human rights violations, and how to solve international problems by taking a page from the incredible women and men who participated in the international space program.

Being surrounded by love, being surrounded by hatred, and the need for human connection is the state of where we are in the summer of 2016. Courage, persistence, and honoring your passion are at the heart of Novus Summit. Let’s get to work. It’s going to be an incredible year.

As we begin to plan the next summit, we would appreciate a few moments of your time to help us better prepare for the future.

First, please complete a brief survey to help us strive to be better and create a more meaningful arc for Novus Summit 2017. You can complete this short survey in less than 2 minutes to transform the world. We take your valuable input very seriously. Our objective is to create an experience that surpasses all other experiences you might attend, and make Novus Summit a truly worthwhile experience for the delegates. We can only do this with your insights. Please find the survey here:

Secondly, here is the exciting link from our friends at UNTV. Everyone at Novus Summit is here not just by invitation, but because you belong here — and are greatly needed. We are passionate about both individually, as well as collectively, achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda through realizing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Below is the official link to the Novus Awards, as well as the Green Cape and Red Cape sessions that were captured as part of the inaugural experience at the UNGA.

We would like to close with the powerful quote shared by our final keynote speaker, David Roberts, to activate our ability to be the change we need in our world:

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but the judgment that something else, like love and compassion is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious bystanders do not live at all.” — Meg Cabot

We urge all of you as you move forward into the fall to reflect on these words of wisdom. We’ll have more to share over the next several months, including exciting updates from the sessions, which we will post on our website soon at www.novussumit.org.

As always… on behalf of the Novus team and the United Nations, here is to a better and brighter future.
